A man, identified as Sameer Pahan, was found dead in the South Dinajpur district of West Bengal. As per reports, he was found hanging by a noose at Balurghat. The incident happened in the Kalai Bari village under the Balurghat police station area. The BJP has claimed that Sameer Pahan was one of their workers.
Police said that on Tuesday morning the local people saw Sameer's body hanging on a tree and immediately informed the police. The police team that reached the spot took him down.
They sent him to the hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead after an investigation. The body has been sent for postmortem to understand the cause of death. The police are talking to the family members.
State BJP President Sukant Majumdar has alleged that Sameer was killed and hanged on a tree. He wrote on Twitter that another BJP worker Sameer Pahan was killed by Trinamool goons. "Law and order is over in the state. Didi wants to suppress the voice of the youth with violence and murder", said Majumdar.
